Funyula MP Paul Otuoma has linked the ongoing wrangles in Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party to ineffectiveness of the party secretary general Professor Anyang Nyong’o.
Otuoma said the party has reached a point of disintegration due to the secretary general's inaction to bring order adding that party secretariat's politics resulted into the recent ejection of the executive director Magerer Langat.
“There is a lot of politics going on at the secretariat bringing that is causing all this confusion and that must stop,” he said.
Addressing the press in Kisumu, Otuoma said those employed to run the secretariat should desist from involving themselves in politics.
“Any person employed in the secretariat and wants to play politics, must first resign then join politicians but don’t do it while still in the secretariat,” he said.
He added that as employees of the party any action should be taken against them in case they are found to have been involved in malpractices that are contrary to the ideals of the party.
Otuoma further criticized Prof Nyong’o for his refusal to have Wafula Buke as an interim executive director as Langat faces party’s disciplinary committee to respond to some allegations.
“Why is Nyong’o giving conflicting information, Buke has just stepped in as Langat gets clearance over those allegations, why turn down Buke again? He posed.
