County Commander Erastus Kidor announced this after meeting all security heads in the 6 sub-counties in the county, adding that maximum security will be maintained, especially in areas where many people crowd like churches, shopping malls, supermarkets and even social joints.

Ekidor further noted that they have partnered with the numerous private security companies in the area to bolster the presence of police in all the areas.

He said such partnership with private security companies will help to reinforce police operations, noting that police cannot manage to be everywhere.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting at the provincial headquater on Monday, Ekidor also encouraged the public to volunteer information to police that can help combat crime.

Ekidor said with the terror threat in the country, people must be vigilant and ensure they report suspicious characters or activities.

He urged locals to work together with chiefs and even their assistants at the village level, and embrace the Nyumba kumi initiative, saying it will help clear out criminals.

At the same time, the County Commander cautioned people to drink responsibly, adding that police will not condone any misbehaviour as a result of over-indulgence in alcohol.
