Storymoja Africa will hold a Special Book and Cultural Exhibition Festival at Nakuru’s Kenya National Library Services from May 28 to May 30. Purity Kavuri, the Libarian in-charge of Kenya National Library Services, Nakuru branch who confirmed the event on Monday said the festival that will be the first of its kind by Storymoja outside Nairobi will help boost the library’s use. She said the event which will be officially be opened by the County Council Education and Culture Executive Professor Catherine Kitetu will feature book exhibitions on all classes of readers and creativity published by the group and other publishers. The event will also feature story telling, poetry, debates, music and film exhibitions by artists, writers, publishers and information experts from across the country. “This will be a very good and special chance for our readers and potential ones to experience new books and cultural materials. We are encouraging schools, colleges and universities in Nakuru to send their pupils and students to attend this occasion because it will be a rare and most informative and entertaining event,’’ added Kavuri. The Librarian indicated that among the latest publications by Storymoja to be exhibited during the event include a careers encyclopedia titled: Careerpedia, that promotes mentorship skills among young people in the country by empowering them to plan their future through career choices. Authors Ken Walibora, Auma Obama, Simon Harris, Kinyanjui Kombani among others including 12-year old author Stephen Partington will grace the occasion.
