Writing on Twitter on Wednesday, he contended that proponents of the bill had assumed that those opposed to the bill were ignorant, stupid members of the dynasty.

He also hit out at the Punguza Mizigo initiative for waging a negative campaign on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

"Death Of Punguza Mizigo Bill is a classic lesson on How to Lose Elections ..... Proponents of the Bill made the following assumptions:1. That anyone opposed to the Bill is Stupid, Ignorant, Corrupt & Member Of Dynasty.2. Formulated a negative campaign against Handshake & BBI, " Kipkorir wrote on Twitter.

His intervention comes in the wake of the bill suffering a series of rejections in a number of county assemblies.

Thirdway Alliance leader Dr Ekuru Aukot, Punguza Mizigo's chief exponent, has hit out at critics of his initiative for what he calls spreading lies.

The bill sought to significantly reduce the number of constituencies in the country, abolish the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), and take resources to the grassroots.

Proponents of BBI led by Raila Odinga have called on Kenyans to ignore Dr Aukot's initiative, saying that the public was not involved in drafting its recommendations.
