Parents have been urged to be keen on which kind of churches their children attend this festive season to avoid them getting into cults.
This comes after the mysterious death of Magu and his family, who is believed they were murdered out of religious beliefs of unknown cult.
Thika Cathedral ACK Bishop James Kamura said that the repeat of the death of the family could be avoided if only parents will be vigilant on the churches their children attend.
“Let us attend churches that are known to everyone rather than churches which have rituals that are not known,” said the bishop.
The clergyman urged Kenyans not to lose faith in churches but instead believe God whom they are serving, saying that salvation is in the heart of an individual.
He however condemned parents who don’t introduce their children to church at a tender age saying it increases crime and drug abuse in the country and spearhead terrorism since the child grows up without good values and virtues.
“Those parents who don’t take their children to church at an early age are the ones to blame sometimes for crimes and drug abuse since the child only grows up with vices and not virtues,” said Kamura.
The bishop spoke at Kimuchu village, Juja sub-county during the funeral service for Magu’s family.
