Nakuru County Senator James Mungai has called on residents to work with security forces to prevent terrorist attacks in the country.
In a press release to media houses on Tuesday afternoon, the senator said that Kenyans needed to be more vigilant to prevent such attacks.
“I wish to convey my deep condolences to the families of the terrorist attack at Garissa University College, sharing in the sorrow of the victims’ families and all those who mourn them. In that regard, I strongly condemn the blind violence which was perpetrated upon those young Kenyans through that cowardly and abominable terrorist attack,” he added.
He appealed to the residents to report any unusual and suspicious characters they notice to the security forces.
“Those parents or siblings whose children disappear to join the dark forces should be reported immediately. We must all support our security apparatus in the fight against terrorism, insecurity and other evils,” he said.
The senator said security in the country was paramount for any development to take place.
“The fight against terrorism is a united fight and we should all get involved. Leaving the fight to the police only will see more cases of terrorism in the country,” he added
