Speaking at a conference organised by Open Governance, a non-governmental organisation, on Tuesday at Kisii hotel, the youths lamented over the alleged leadership of discrimination and prejudices in county governments.

They urged political leaders to embrace change in the region by bringing all concerned parties to the table to discuss the way forward for the sake of development.

“The county governments have not started at a very good path,"  said Evans Osoro.

"The situation seems similar virtually in all counties. Discrimination and prejudices to some groups, especially to the youths is very high.”

He said whereas many counties have launched enormous projects for the benefit of their constituents, Nyamira was lagging behind.

“Our county has not launched any meaningful project that can be equated to what we are seeing at Machakos or other counties. We want to see serious projects and this can be done through participatory leadership,” he said.

They asked Nyamira Senator Kennedy Mong’are to end political differences with Governor John Nyagarama for the sake of development.

“We are tired with persisting intrigues with senator and governor. Every time they are fighting and this is not proper when it comes to development,” James Aming’a said.
