All travellers entering the country from China will have to undergo thorough screening, as governments up its game to protect against the 'Chinese' coronavirus.
"Ministry of health has heightened surveillance at all ports of entry and screening of passengers for coronavirus. An alert has also been sent to all the 47 counties through the directors of health and Kenyan governors to widen efforts," read a statement from Health Ministry, as quoted by Standard.
Health Director-General on acting capacity, Patrick Amoth revealed that the government was doing all it could despite business relations between the state and China.
"We have started screening for all passengers who are coming from China and we will wait for the WHO to give us further guidance," noted Mr Amoth.
Kenya receives like three flights on a daily basis from China where 473 infection cases had been reported until Wednesday by the press of China.
The infection, having similar symptoms like that of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome has already claimed nine lives after it was reported in Wuhan City.
The disease is speculated to have originated from animals, owing to the fact that Wuhan City is fond of wildlife tradings, whereby WHO also supported the speculation.
The Chinese government was reportedly working around the clock to have the situation arrested.
