Preparations are ongoing ahead of the World Rally championship expected to be held Naivasha in July.
Speaking after holding a meeting with a team from the Kenya Motorsport Federation who are the organizers of the event, Naivasha's Lakeview Ward MCA Karanja Mburu welcome the move.
The MCA said it will be a boost to the economy with many guests expected in Naivasha for the event.
While terming Naivasha as heritage and splendour for Nakuru county, Mburu called on locals to make good use of the opportunity that comes with the event.
He pointed out that the event marks a scenario where the world is coming to Naivasha.
"The event is paramount to the people of Lakeview Ward, Naivasha and Nakuru as a whole," he said.
According to the MCA, this is also an opportunity for the youths who would like to venture into Safari rally sport to learn one or two ideas.
Similar sentiments were echoed by the chairman of Kenya Motorsport Federation Phineas Kimathi.
Kimathi noted that Naivasha is well-positioned for the event.
At least 80,000 people are expected to grace the motor rally which is making its re-entry to Kenya after years of suspension.
The hotel industry will be one of the biggest beneficiaries with thousands expected to book accommodation spaces ahead of the rally.
It should be remembered that President Uhuru Kenyatta played a crucial role in convincing the World Motorsport Council to allow the return of the Safari rally championship in the country.
