After the training, the youths will be sent out to educate other youths in the two counties on the issues of social leadership as one way of empowering them.

Doctor Sellah King’ori, the acting director of Active Citizen said that the initiative would enhance the competence of youths.

She hoped that the seminar would enlighten the youth on issues of social leadership, particularly when it comes to intercultural dialogue across cultures, and social responsibility.

King’ori said that they also taught the youth how to be their own keepers so that they could know what targets they want to achieve, and what they need to put in place to achieve it.

According to Doctor Francis Owino, a Director in the NCIC, they have been taking the youth in the country on exchange programs to different counties where they engage in various sports activities as one way of building cohesion.

“We encourage the youth to engage in sporting activities when we take them on exchange program in a bid to exchange ideas,” said Owino.
