In an address to the media on Friday, the MP said that the ongoing wrangles and hate among a section of leaders in Ukambani will hamper development.

He said that politicians in the region have to put aside their differences and work towards developing the region.

“I want to ask political leaders in the larger Ukambani region to stop petty politics and work for the people who elected them,” he said.

However the lawmaker blamed some forces outside Ukambani which he said are keen to cause disharmony among the region's leaders.

Mr Mbui said that Ukambani has never experienced wrangles among its leaders and threatened to expose the forces behind the wrangles.

Meanwhile, the MP called on county governments in the region to put in place measures that will boost the living standards of the people.

He said that Ukambani has for a long time been left behind in terms of development and that leaders should take advantage of devolution to improve people's lives.

The legislator said he has put in place measures to ensure people in his constituency benefit from government resources.

“I am working with both the national and the county government to ensure Kathiani people have access to quality basic services," he said.

He indicated that measures have been put in place to curb insecurity and asked residents to work with law enforcers as they focus on curbing crime.
