Thika traffic police base commander Benjamin Kiprotich has issued a warning to all motorists in the sub-county after a massive accidents report on his desk saying that his officers have opened their eyes wider to get the wrong doers .
Speaking to the press from his office Thika town today , Muthamia said that most of the accidents reported in the area have been caused by speeding vehicles and motorcycles and also negligence of the motorists .
He insisted that every vehicle on the road must be roadworthy to be allowed to work within the sub-county.He added that a raid is to be conducted by his officers in the course of the week to ensure no vehicle has gone contrary with the road rules.
“We conducted a raid last weekend and arrested 28 motorists we aregoing to raid again next weekend and this time it will be conducted by the traffic officers and the NTSA officers to ensure everyone has abided by the agreement we just made,” the officer said.
He asked the motorists to abide by the traffic rules if they want to be on the safe side of the law. He said that they have no problem with anyone whose vehicle is worthy to be in the road
