Rapper Khaligraph Jones has revealed that he started his music career in 2004 as a gospel artist.
Speaking with The Star's Word IS on Monday, the rapper said that he recorded his first song in collaboration with gospel artist Hopekid.
Both Khaligraph and Hopekid started their musical journey as a group since they were in the same school.
Even though they had a group, the rapper said that they still used to use their own individual names, because they had not given a name to their group.
About his first experience in the studio, Khaligraph Jones said that he went to the studio for the first time when he was 13 years old.
"I started rapping when I was a kid. I started with gospel music around 2004 when I recorded my very first song. Hopekid and I had formed a group in Kayole because we were in the same school. We didn't have a name for the group, we all had our own individual names. The producer really rushed me, I was 13-years old when I first hit the studio. At the time there weren't many studios. I was with Hopekid but it was a memorable moment," narrated Khaligraph Jones as quoted by the Star said.
The singer also said he stepped on stage for the first time in 2008 at a Words And Pictures (WAP) function.
