Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has launched a scathing attack against ODM Leader Raila Amolo Odinga over the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
In a tweet on Monday, the former senator said that the Former Prime Minister and his team want to lure Kenyans to the wrong side with the scheme. He terms the process as dubious and warned Kenyans against the same.
The vocal politician, who has pledged to support Deputy President William Ruto in 2022, alluded that the report is ill-intended. He also said that he is not ready to back such a report.
"BBI is a dishonest scheme. A fraud that @RailaOdinga en governors are desperately trying to use to scam Kenyans," he tweeted. Accompanied by a video of Siaya Governor Rasanga stating his support for the BBI in what seemed like a push to have another term in office.
The second in command had said that the popularization of the report is a waste of time and time. He wanted why the leaders wanted to tour the country to popularize a report that has already been made public. Ruto made the remarks on Saturday during his tour in Emuhaya and Tongaren constituencies.
“It was made clear by the President that copies should be made available for the people to decide for themselves. Why is it now that it is the leaders who are making decisions for the people?” he asked. “Where do they find the money to campaign for a document that has no opposition? he posed.
