Thika West sub-county Education Officer Ephantus Micheni has said they have put measure in place to prevent cheating in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examinations slated for next week.
Speaking in his Thika town office on Thursday, Micheni said water-tight measures have been put in place to ensure cheating in the exams is curbed.
"We have already met with all the stakeholders including the invigilators and supervisors who will administer the exams. We have sealed all the loopholes and we expect the exams to move on smoothly without lots of problems," said Micheni.
He asked the class eight candidates to take the remaining few days to complete their preparations for the exams while warning them against cheating.
"Time is now ripe for the candidates to sit for the exams. Final preparations should now be on top gear to ensure that they are well set. I advise the candidates to desist from any form of cheating as this may spell a beginning of their downfall and a blurred future," he added.
He also called on parents and teachers to offer guidance and moral support to the candidates before and during the exams.
The ongoing KCSE exams have been marred with claims of widespread leakages leaving Kenyans and educationists to question the credibility of the exams.
