An unknown man was knocked down and killed by a car along the Njoro–Nakuru road.
The man’s body, who is yet to be identified, was taken to the Molo District Hospital mortuary.
Confirming the incident, Njoro OCPD Fredrick Lai warned drivers against careless driving. He said that all drivers must adhere to traffic rules, failure to which stern action will be taken against them.
He urged road users to be careful while on roads especially during this festive season.
“Drivers should be extra careful when on roads to avoid unnecessary accidents. Our officers are alert and anyone found flouting traffic rules will be apprehended,” said Lai.
Lai also added that traffic department was working with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and the National Road Safety Trust to address the menace of reckless driving.
He added: “Our officers will not give a room to rogue drivers who kill innocent Kenyans by flouting traffic rules. Our combined effort is aimed at ensuring safety for road users.”
Lai further urged the public to support the traffic police in bringing sanity back among drivers and enforcement of the traffic rules to ensure safety of all motorists and passengers.
