Six MCAs from South Mugirango constituency in Kisii County, have called on residents to participate in the ongoing public participation in the preliminary county budget for 2015/2016 financial year.

Speaking to this writer, the group, led by Daniel Apepo of Tabaka Ward, has asked the residents to attend Wednesday's event at Nyamarambe centre in the constituency, so that they can give their views on the budget before it is tabled in the County Assembly.

“I ask residents to attend and participate in tomorrow’s (Wednesday) public participation on the budget and give their recommendations to the estimations,” said Apepo.

The MCA said that public involvement in the county's budget would help the government know where they, (public) want more funds to be allocated.

Other MCAs who supported Apepo on the importance of public participation on the budget from the constituency are Albert Oino of Chitago, Elkanah Nyandoro-Boikang'a, Evans Omwansu-Moticho, Reuben Moreka-Bogetenga and Ronald Onduso of Getenga ward.

The public from all the nine constituencies that form Kisii County, are expected to participate in the forum, with residents of Nyaribari Masaba and Bomachoge having already participated.
