Miss Tourism Nakuru Laura Chepchumba has launched an anti-cholera campaign to help fight the deadly disease which has struck the area leaving over sixty dead.
Addressing residents at Kampi Ya Moto while launching the campaign Chepchumba urged people to ensure that they live in a clean environment.
“I am asking like minded resident organisations to join me in this campaign. We want our people to be aware of the nature of this deadly disease and how they can keep it at a bay,” said Chepchumba.
Chepchumba vowed to travel in all parts of Nakuru County sensitising residents on the ways to stop the disease.
“I will visit market centres, churches, entertainment spots and learning institutions informing people on cholera symptoms and what to do once you realise you have it,” said Chepchumba.
She will be accompanied by health officials from the ministry of health and other health experts from Non Governmental Organizations and the private sector during the tours.
