Thika town MP Alice Ng’ang’a has asked leaders in the constituency to promote development and improve the welfare of the people.
While addressing Thika residents, Nga’ng’a said that development should be spearheaded by local leaders.
She observed that leaders who were elected by the people should work tirelessly and ensure locals have access to services they were, by default, entitled to.
“All elected leaders in Thika town should focus on addressing the problems facing the people, and find a permanent solution to improve the living standards of the residents,” said Nga’ng’a.
Ng’ang’a affirmed that the constituency had enough money that should be used to improve the living standards of the people.
The legislator added that she was working closely with the national and county government to ensure development.
The lawmaker confirmed that various development projects had been started in the constituency saying that the only thing needed was political good will among leaders to ensure that those projects are completed.
She said that unity of leaders would spur socio-economic development and improve the people’s welfare.
While talking on security matters, Ng’ang’a called on the people to always share information with police officers to curb crime.
She said that police officers in the area have promised to crack down on criminals and restore order and peace in the constituency.
The MP also cautioned young people against taking part in activities such as abusing drugs that will ruin them especially during this festive season.
