Mavoko residents have been asked to be careful this festive season to reduce instances of insecurity in the region.
Addressing the press in Athi River on Monday, Mavoko Member of Parliament Patrick Makau said residents ought to be careful to ensure security in the area is not compromised.
He urged the residents to cooperate with the police through community policing and report strangers whom they suspect are not of good characters within their midst.
"There are high possibilities of wrong people getting among us with bad intentions of causing insecurity during this festive season. There is need to be cautious," said Makau.
He added that issues of insecurity would be reduced and police work made easier if "wananchi" fully cooperated with security agents in flushing out criminals in the region.
Makau lauded Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua for being committed in ensuring security in the entire county by providing police patrol cars to all sub counties within the county.
