Kisumu County transport and infrastructure CEC Eng Vincent Kodera has warned cartels soliciting for money from unsuspected members of the public that their days are numbered.
Kodera said the group has been swindling the public in the pretence that they are able to offer tenders.
“It has come to our attention that this group has been moving around the county conning people of their hard earned money,” he said.
He said the county government will not take any liability as a result of such criminal activities in the county. He told the public to be watch out on such people and report them to relevant authorities.
Addressing the press in his office, Kodera said there are laid down procedures on how one to get tenders and other government jobs.
He said no tender is being sold on the streets or in bars.
“The county government offices are open. Visit these offices to get clarification and stop dealing with conmen in the streets,” he said.
Kodera noted that those who have been pre-qualified should even be extra careful with these cartels lest they lose money to them.
He said those who win tenders will be duly notified and their money paid in time during the progress of their work.
“Things are done systematically by this county government. Those who are pre-qualified should not worry,” he said.
