Deputy President William Ruto has maintained that the government would not relent its effort in its operation to flush out banditry in Baringo and Pokot Counties.
Speaking yesterday at Kikuyu town during a church service on Sunday, Ruto said that the operation would be carried until there area is free from criminal’s activities.
“The government will not relent in curbing criminal activities in North Rift till we dismantle their operations,” said Ruto.
He further said that the criminals will face the full wrath of law to act as an example to those who have the habit of causing chaos.
“Those agitating peace will be dealt with in accordance to the law, we will not rest until we make sure we have fully dealt with the situation,” added Ruto.
The deputy also noted that the government would use all resources at its disposal to recover all the stolen arms and illegally owned firearms from the bandits, further adding that the operation would continue till the government is satisfied with return of normalcy and inaccessible areas are combed.
He further issued a warning to those behind incitement that the government would crack the whip on them.
“The government has responsibility to ensure security is maintained in the country and those causing incitement are dealt with,” said Ruto.
