Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has condemned an incident in which gang members on Monday night attacked residents in Kisauni and Nyali constituencies.
The county boss said the attack is not only cowardly but also ill-timed.
Joho noted that his government will take immediate action following the attack that left 13 residents injured.
The flamboyant governor divulged that the received the news about the attack with deep shock, adding that he has called on security agents to remain vigilant as the crackdown continues.
“I am extremely perturbed by yesterday’s wave of attacks in Bamburi and Mtopanga within Kisauni Sub-county. I urge security agents to move with speed and bring to book perpetrators of last night’s attacks on innocent civilians,” he said.
“As Govt, it’s our duty to ensure protection of people’s lives & property. I am asking members of the public to volunteer information that will lead to the arrest of gangs that have been terrorizing people. We need to get to the bottom of the matter & address it once and for all,” he added.
Police have since arrested three suspects in connection with the attack. The three are; Ibrahim Mohammed Hamdan 17, Jackson Okelo 26, and Paul Ayub, 18.
