Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi on Tuesday claimed that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate for Kibra by-election Imran Okoth was bribing voters.
In a post on his Facebook page, Sudi, a Jubilee MP alleged that Okoth was giving Kibra residents flour and Sh1,000 under the protection of the police.
He wondered why the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the police were doing nothing yet the candidate was violating electoral laws.
The MP called for immediate action to be taken over the issue.
"What happened to our electoral laws? Why is IEBC and Kenyan Police not responsible? Imran Okoth is donating Unga plus 1000/- each to voters in Kibra under the protection of police officers. Action MUST be taken promptly," wrote Sudi.
Tuesday was the last day of campaigns for the mini poll scheduled for Thursday.
ODM's Imran Okoth, Jubilee's MacDonald Mariga and Eliud Owalo of ANC are considered the front runners in the much-hyped race.
The race has turned into a face-off between Deputy President William Ruto and ODM chief Raila Odinga.
The Kibra parliamentary seat fell vacant in July 2019 after Ken Okoth, brother to Imran Okoth succumbed to cancer.
