Christmas Day is hours away and for many, this season is misconstrued as a season for foods and drinks only.
However, it is good to put checks and balances in our eating and drinking habits or this season may turn out to be your worst nightmare.
Now, if you consume alcohol, how do you handle that deadly hangover?
George Nthele, a nutritionist at Thika Level 5 Hospital says: “Do not drink on an empty stomach. Food allows slow absorption of alcohol into the blood. A good thing to avoid the bad feeling the next morning, ensure you are hydrated by taking enough water as many cases of hangovers are as a result of dehydration.”
“Choose drinks with less sugar as they will make you feel better the following day. Stick to one drink and you will end up even drinking less,” he advises.
He says that another thing is to avoid hangover relieving drugs that could be hard on you. With that, we hope you will have a hangover free festive season.
