Kenyans have expressed mixed reactions after embattled Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi made a dramatic return on Wednesday after 13 months out of office.
Kenyans on Twitter expressed their varied opinions on the matter with some supporting her comeback while others termed it a political strategy.
A section of KOT cautioned Elachi on the remarks she made while addressing the media. Some believed it was not appropriate for her to credit politicians for her return.
They argued that if she was to get back the job, it would be because she deserved it and not because it was a favour from any political leader.
Others, however, cited that Elachi had made the right decision of supporting the handshake. According to them, the handshake team was growing stronger.
During her press briefing, Elachi vowed to deal with illegal trips that MCAs were making. Kenyans, nonetheless, believed that it would be hard for her to achieve that.
Another group claimed Elachi's return would be short-lived. They suggested that if she was to stay longer in office, she should keep her head down and be silent.
