“It is unfortunate that some leaders are perpetuating and instigating hateful politics at this time and age,” said Mutua.

The Machakos governor said that politicians must learn to tolerate and accommodate each other's views saying that fighting and violence will not help.

“We should learn to agree and disagree and listen to opposing viewpoints,” he said in the post shared on facebook.

The governor said that Machakos County will not engage in ugly politics adding that all leaders are welcome in the county so long they adhere to the law.

He said that freedom of movement should not be curtailed saying that the country belongs to all Kenyans and their leaders.
