Jared Onyango who was convicted on his own guilty plea asked resident magistrate Eric Obina to summon Beryl Achieng to court so that he can iron the issue out with her.

He denied allegation that the assaulted woman was his former girlfriend, insisting that they were legally married.

He was remanded in prison custody until November 21 when Achieng will appear in court.

Onyango was accused of assaulting Achieng and causing her bodily harm.

The facts were that on November 2 at Ondieki Estate in Kisumu City, he assaulted the complainant with a plank of wood following a domestic quarrel.

Their landlady intervened and took Achieng to Kisumu East District Hospital where the injuries were recorded as actual bodily harm.

Another man told the same court that he broke into his debtor’s house and stole a bag full of clothes to recover Sh20, 000 owed to him by the complainant.

Silas Ochieng was released on a Sh20, 000 bond after he denied the particulars of the breaking and entering offence.

He argued that he had returned the luggage before the matter was reported to the police. He pleaded for an out of court settlement which was not granted.

His case will be heard on November 21.
