A maseno University student who was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly beating up his girlfriend has been released.
Kevin Nyabuto was saved from meeting the Maseno law courts by the girlfriend after she visited him at the police station the following day and sought to settle the matter amicably out of court.
Doctors who attended to the girl at the university's clinic said that she was injured but the injuries were not too severe for her to be admitted.
She was therefore discharged Wednesday morning and straight went to the police station to try getting her boyfriend out.
"It was a small misunderstanding which I am ready to forgive him," she said.
After reaching an agreement with the officer at Maseno Police Station, the boy was released later that day.
The couple has hence moved to stay together again but the neighbours have threatened not to intervene should such an incident happen again.
