Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has called on residents in the constituency to be vigilant and work with the police towards promoting security.

The MP told reporters at Gatundu town that residents must be ready and willing to collaborate with the police.

He stated that the country is experiencing threats, and residents must be on the lookout and report suspicious elements.

“The public must work closely with the law enforcers in order to curb criminals,” he said, adding that the government has assured locals of security.

The Gatundu South legislator urged the police to conduct patrols on a 24 hour basis, saying that it will help secure the constituency and adjacent areas.

He further directed principals and head teachers in schools to put in place strategies that will guarantee safety of students.

Kuria said that the government will deploy security personnel to guard schools as more measures are being implemented towards guaranteeing security.

Kuria at the same time asked the government to hunt down and take action against the planners of the Garissa University attack.

“The perpetrators of the Garissa University attack must never go unpunished, they must be brought to book, we have lost energetic students,” he said.

The MP also called on the government to foot the bills of survivors who are recuperating and also help in burial arrangements for those who succumbed.
