Muhoroni residents from Kisumu County have pointed an accusing finger to bodaboda operators from the area as playing a part in assisting criminal activities.
According to the residents, operators have formed alliances with criminals in carrying out their missions.
Speaking to HiviSasa.com, some residents claim that bodaboda operators engage in criminal activities while pretending to work at night.
Every time you hear of any activity that happens in the night, a bodaboda must have been involved in it, because criminals use motorbikes to escape. These motorbikes are the same ones which carry us during the day," lamented Patrick Okoth, a resident from Muhoroni.
Maureen Kanini accused bodaboda operators of handing their passengers into the hands of criminals while some turn out to be the real criminals.
They pretend to carry you at night but in real sense they know what they are doing. They way lay you on the road or sometime rob you," said Kanini.
The operators are said to be tasked with the responsibility of identifying those to be robbed and then communicate with the real criminals on the location where the robbery will take place.
The residents are urging police officers to come in and assist in taming the rogue operators who have allegedly turned out to be the core behind criminal activities in the area.
