Teachers, parents and students from Kisii region, have been asked to embrace unity as a way of boosting education standards in the region.

Speaking at Itongo Sengera primary school, Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire urged education stakeholders to come together and fight exam cheating allegations propagated by malicious people.

"I ask parents, teachers and students to join hands in the fight against exam cheating allegations. However, there are malicious people who are tainting the Gusii name for cheating in exams and therefore, I ask leaders to come together and clear our name," said Bosire.

The MP gave Itongo Sengera primary school Sh 700,000 from the CDF kitty to help construct three classrooms, and Sh 500,000 to Metamaywa secondary for completion of the stalled classes.

He promised to support education in Nyamira County and Kisii in general to ensure the region is registering impressive results.

Rigoma Ward MCA Benson Sironga, challenged teachers to work hard and improve performance in the ward.

"There is no difference between you and teachers in renowned and well performing schools. There is no excuse then for not posting good results from our ward," Sironga told ward teachers.
