Twenty five thousand five hundred and seventy two (25, 572) candidates are sitting for this year’s KCSE in Kiambu County.

Kiambu County Quality Assurance and  Standards Officer Paul Shiroya has confirmed adding that there are 356 KCSE centres, out of which 250 are public schools examination centres and 106 private centres.

He said that exams rehearsal was done on Monday and elective exams like computer, Home science, foreign exams, music, and electricity among others began from Tuesday.

He said that, having being done with elective exams and Chemistry practicals on Friday October 17, the exams will run up to November 11.

The quality assurance officer said that county education officers are well prepared to monitor examinations as TSC officers supervises exams hence exams are handled  well in that all exams regulation must adhered to.

The officer asserted that they are endowed with enough human recourse, reliable means of transport and adequate security personnel which is water tight to ensure that  exams go on well as planned without any interruptions or interferences.

Shiroya assured all candidates that during examination period there is no cause for alarm over the impending teachers’ strike. He added that since teachers have their own children (students) sitting for these same national exams, their probability of going on strike is low.

He advised the students to concentrate on their revision and stop bothering with the teachers strike as their problem is being addressed by other concerned institutions.
