Addressing the press in Limuru Sub County on Friday, the executive said that adequate funds have been set aside to ensure supply of clean water.

The official said that schools, hospitals and other public and private institutions will benefit from the project.

“We are committed to ensure that Kiambu people have access to clean water supply,” he said, adding that the county is working with the private sector on the same.

The executive at the same time warned residents against illegal water connections saying that it's costing the county billions of shillings.

Njuguna said that illegal water connections are rampant especially in urban centres stating that the law will soon catch up with those involved.

“We are going to deal mercilessly with those who connect to water points without prior permission,” he added.

He further stated that measures are being put in place to ensure water is harnessed and stored to avert shortages adding that residents will be sensitised on the importance of harnessing rain water and using it for other activities.
