Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has announced that he will be sponsoring the Primary schools end of term exams in the area through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking on behalf of the MP, Gatundu South CDF chairman Robert Githongo said that the initiative is meant to uplift the schools' performance as well as easing the burden of parents having to pay for the exams.
"We will use the CDF to assist parents and teachers here to ensure that level of education goes up. From this term going forward no parent will be required to pay for end term exams", Githongo said.
He was addressing all the primary schools head teachers in Gatundu South who had gathered in Gatundu town on Thursday to collect exams for this term.
Githongo added that they are also planning to start providing porridge to the primary schools pupils.
"Plans are underway to start giving porridge to pupils so that they can study well. We also want all schools to have electricity and every school will also acquire a typing machine," he said.
