Youth in Nyaribari Masaba have been warned against insulting area MP Elijah Moindi.
A group of youth have, reportedly, been arraigned in court for posting insulting messages in social media aimed at undermining the area MP.
Speaking to HiviSasa.com, area Senior Chief Francis Omindi gave a stern warning to those insulting the MP, instead advised them to use their time to better their lives.
“I warn the youth and other people who have been reportedly tainting the MP’s name in the village and facebook that they risk facing the full force of the law,” Omindi warned.
The chief further urged the youth to enrol for free craft courses in local polytechnics to equip themselves with knowledge that will make them self-reliant.
“I ask those who have dropped out of school or were not lucky to join college to enrol in our local polytechnics so that they can get skills to be self-reliant,” he said.
Chief Omindi also urged alcohol consumers to indulge responsibly in a way that will not affect other people. He vowed to fight against illegal brewing of alcohol noting that indulgence in illicit brew has made many residents, especially men, to abscond their family roles.
“I will continue with operation Mwaga Pombe because illicit brew has made some men to deviate from their family responsibilities,” he said.
