Deputy President William Ruto while attending a church service at Ziwa in Eldoret on Sunday announced that through several programmes which included the CDF, classes will be put up and pay teachers hence parents will not be asked to make any payment to the schools.

"All these programmes that are being implemented in our education sector are to ensure that our children are enjoying education as a constitutional right. The Jubilee government has ensured that starting next year, day schools will be cost free," Ruto said.

Faith Wanjiru who is a parent of six said: "I thank the government for having made day school free. All my children are in day school and it had reached a point where I could not support them all. My prayers have been answered and now they can study without worrying of being chased away due to school fees,”, Wanjiru said.

Mary Wacene asked the government to ensure that all the school head teachers abide to free day schools.

"I am urging the educational officers to be following up to ensure that we are not being asked for any money. This is a very good move especially to the needy students," Wacene said.

Peter Karanja congratulated the Jubilee government for this programme.

"The government is doing a very good job especially in the education sector. This will motivate the students and ensure that they study to their ability," Karanja said.
