Popular Gikuyu comedian Muthee Kiengei Wa Watoria has hit out at Nominated Member of Parliament Maina Kamanda following the chaos that erupted in a church in Kiharu, Murang'a County on Sunday.
There was drama at Gitui Catholic Church after area MP Ndindi Nyoro clashed with members of the Kieleweke team during a fundraiser where Kamanda was the chief guest.
After Kamanda had invited the Kiharu legislator to make his speech, he refused to sit down insisting that as area MP, he should be the one to continue inviting his National Assembly colleagues present.
This showdown generated a lot of tension but it was made worse when police officers attempted to throw Nyoro out of the church, prompting his supporters to intervene.
Reacting to the incident, Kiengei, who is also a presenter at Kameme FM, accused Kamanda of provoking Nyoro by refusing to let him preside over the function that was being held in his constituency.
"Maina Kamanda as a matter of fact and (considering) your age in politics wacha uchokozi with your so called Kieleweke failures and election losers. As a leader you should understand protocol very well.
"Why clash with Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro who should invite the MPs to give their speeches and you are in a church where Ndindi represents??? Kieleweke acheni uchokozi (stop provoking others)" the comedian posted on Facebook.
Following the church drama, police are reportedly pursuing Nyoro on allegations he assaulted an officer as they attempted to arrest him.
The MP has dismissed the allegations saying state agencies are being used to wage political war on him.
