Matungulu deputy county commissioner has lauded Nyumba Kumi groups in the area for enhancing security in the area.
Addressing residents during the Mashujaa day celebrations at Kisukioni area on Tuesday, Patrick Mwangi said that the Nyumba Kumi groups have played a big role in helping the police maintain order and security in the county.
Mwangi confirmed that the police have been able to conduct fruitful investigations and arrest criminals with the help of the Nyumba Kumi group.
"The Nyumba Kumi initiative has been successful in Matungulu Sub-County as it has helped in enhancing security in the area, and for that matter, I wish to thank the groups for a job well done. Many police operations and investigations have been successful due to the help of the Nyumba Kumi groups,” said Mwangi.
Mwangi also asked residents to guide their children to prevent them from joining criminal groups and indulging in drug abuse.
"The country needs youthful leaders who can be trusted and that will only be possible if we monitor and guide our children,” said Mwangi.
