Borabu Member of Parliament Ben Momanyi yesterday came to the salvage of patients that were detained at the Nyamira county Level Five Hospital over medical bills. The Member of Parliament made a surprise visit to the institution and settled Sh100,000 bill that the patients owed the medical facility. The patients and their kin could not hide their joy as they thanked the MP for coming to their rescue. Thomas Bosire, a patient said he had been discharged from the hospital last week but could not go home because of a Sh9,800 bill. “ I was treated here and discharged last week after fully recovering but unfortunately I could not go home because I was not able to raise my bill of sh.9,800 and so I was held here until the amount is raised but God is good and I want thank mheshimiwa Momanyi for helping me out and others that had no way out,” said Bosire. Speaking at the facility, the legislator called on the county government to set up a special medical bill kitty for people who cannot afford to meet their medical expenses in the county. “I want ask the county government of Nyamira to work away out and set a kitty that will help out residents of Nyamira that will not be able to raise hospital bills,” said Hon. Momanyi.
