Kiambu county government has been asked to ensure all residents have access to better medical care.
Speaking at Maguguni Estate in Thika town on Sunday, area MP Alice Ng’ang’a said that locals have a right to access proper medical care.
She said that the government has a responsibility to ensure that locals get quality and affordable treatment.
“The government must work on modalities that will make sure that every resident in kaimbu has access to healthcare,” she added.
Ng’ang’a observed that with the devolvement of the health unit to counties, Kenyans at the grass root must get proper services.
The MP observed that most public health centres and clinics have no enough medicine and equipment.
She said that inadequacy in medicine and modern equipment has hinder provision of proper medical services.
Meanwhile, the MP wants pregnant women from the area to seek medical services noting that it is free.
She stated the health of the mother is important for the proper growth of the unborn child and that frequent check-ups will reduce birth complications.
