The county government of Kiambu will in the current financial year spend about Kshs. 91 million in Murera ward of Juja sub-county, the area Member of County Assembly, Mr. George Kioi has said.
He said that he will ensure that the funds are utilised well to improve various services offered for the benefit of local residents.
The MCA who was speaking during a meeting with the residents of his ward on Friday said that the Murera Water Project for example would get Kshs. 5.2 million which is the amount required to complete the project.
He also said that Rukenya Water Project which was launched by the governor William Kabogo earlier last year will get Kshs. 500, 000 for the same purpose with regards to the county's aim of improving services offered to the residents in the area.
Mr. Kioi said that rural electrification in the ward would be allocated approximately Kshs. 4.2 million saying that this was however not enough due to the vastness of the area.
He assured the residents who will not get access to electricity especially that they would be considered in the next financial year.
The MCA further said that in the education sector, Mung’etho Day Secondary School had been allocated Kshs. 400, 000 for improvement and development of the facilities in the school.
He appealed to implementing committees to ensure that contractors who had been awarded contracts to construct various projects were competent enough to complete the projects on time.
