Chitago Borabu Ward representative Albert Oino has denied claims that he is favouring his hometown in the launch of polytechnic project.
Oiono said that the allegations were politically motivated by his opponents to stain his name.
According to residents from a South Mugirango ward, the MCA wants to move the project from Kebabe to his hometown in Nyatwoni.
Speaking to HiviSasa.com, Oino refuted the claims terming them unfounded and malicious.
“I would like to inform the public that I don’t have any intention of moving the polytechnic project from Kebabe to Nyatwoni. Both places are in my area of jurisdiction and will both have polytechnics,” said Oino.
“The allegations are mere propaganda perpetuated by my opponents to incite the public against me and to taint my name,” he added.
The residents have asked Governor James Ongwae to intervene in the matter to salvage the situation.
“We ask our Governor to intervene and make sure the project remains at Kebabe in line with his promise when he visited the area,” said John Ondimu, a resident.
