Alex Mangi Yaa said his family is looking for a lawyer for a court battle with Mwala after failing to hear from the Radio Citizen Presenter whose real name is Davis Mwabili.

“We are now looking for a lawyer to represent us in court. Sadly, Mwala is yet to communicate with us despite killing our son, who has left behind a young wife and a child,” he said, as quoted by K24.

He said his son Ishmael Yaa was heading to work when he met his death on Monday. According to reports, the actor was released on a police cash bail of Sh40, 000 after being held at Rabai Police Station for interrogation on Monday night.

He is expected to be arraigned in court on Friday, August 30, to face various charges among them murder and driving under the influence of alcohol following allegations that he was drunk at the time of the accident.

Rabai Sub-County Police Commander David Maina confirmed the release and planned arraignment of Mwala.

Apart from being a Radio Citizen morning show presenter, Mwala is the lead actor in the Inspekta Mwala show which airs on Citizen TV.
