Abdul Noor, a former Nakuru County Chair of the now defunct The National Alliance (TNA) party, has spelt doom for Kibra parliamentary hopeful McDonald Mariga.
Mariga has been facing challenges being cleared for the race after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) missed his name in the voter registry.
But Noor says that even if he is allowed to run after the Monday declaration, he stands an almost zero chance of beating Imran Okoth, brother to former MP the late Ken Okoth.
Speaking on Friday, Noor observed that Kenyans have a habit of voting in the vying kin of their dead representative, which will make Okoth easily triumph over the football star.
"Its very hard fior a person not related to the dead MP to be elected in Kenya (Kenya mbunge anapoaga inakuwa vigumu sana mtu mwingine ambaye si wa ukoo wake kushinda )," he said on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Nyuma Ya Pazia show on Friday night.
He opined that the entire mess about Mariga's questionable eligibility to vote is to blame on the Jubilee Party for not scrutinizing his qualifications before nominating him.
He advised the party to get another candidate, arguing that Mariga's candidature is already in question and his ability to win in the race limited.
"Jubilee should look for another person. They will not make it in Kibra whether or not they like it (Kibra wapende wasipende Jubilee hawawezi toboa pale. Wangekuwa werevu wangetafuta mtu mwingine)," he added.
