Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i has appealed to Kisii and Nyamira leaders to follow the footsteps of the late ex-Nyaribari Masaba MP Dr. Hezron Manduku.
Speaking at Nyanturago secondary playing grounds during the burial of Manduku, Tong'i termed the deceased as a determined, hardworking and development oriented leader who will be missed not only by his family but also the Gusii community as a whole.
"Manduku lived an exemplary life which everyone more particularly political leaders must emulate. The late Manduku was a successful entrepreneur despite the fact that he was a politician. I urge political leaders to follow Manduku's footsteps towards the realization of development in Gusii region," said Tong'i.
The vocal lawmaker allied to the ruling Jubilee Party described Manduku as a peaceful person who never believed in politics of propaganda.
Tong'i called upon those Gusii politicians across Gusii region to embrace peace and join hands for the sake of realizing development.
"Division politics will derail development. I challenge political leaders to shun politics based on political parties and consider working in harmony and champion for development," stated the legislator.
He further urged Kisii residents to elect leaders with vision and ignore greedy politician aiming to ascend to power to embezzle funds.
