The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has mourned the death of Dr Kenneth Wameyo who passed on at the Nairobi Hospital, Wednesday.
In a post on its official Twitter handle, ODM said Wameyo was one the best on the field of veterinary and noted he was a great supporter of party leader Raila Odinga.
"The country has lost one of the finest Veterinary Doctors, a scholar and a big supporter of Raila Odinga. We mourn the untimely passing on of Dr. Kenneth Wameyo, a man who believed that for Kenya to grow, it deserves the best. He was one of the best in his field. RIP Daktari," read the tweet
Wameyo, an independent veterinary diagnostics marketing consultant, was very active on Twitter where he engaged his followers in various topics such as politics and sports.
The veterinary surgeon has been mourned by many as a patriot who influenced the lives of so many Kenyans positively.
"Dr. Kenneth Wameyo was a giant of a man ... He humanized Veterinary Medicine for netizens ... We never met physically but we chatted regularly like best friends ... He loved Kenya, a Kenya for all .. We know you are in paradise taking care of heavenly pets," tweeted lawyer Donald Kipkorir.
"Sometimes, you don't have to physically meet someone to impact them; Dr. Wameyo always shared his feedback and contributions to my work, which were very valuable. His passing away is so sad. We pray for the family & friends. I will miss him and his engagements," TV presenter Jane Ngoiri eulogised.
