Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has met with security officials from the Quick-Response Anti-terrorism Squad and discussed ways of dealing with crime.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Mutua said that his government will support the initiatives being taken by the national government to promote security.
Mutua said that provision of security is among the county’s top priorities adding that appropriate measures will be taken to ensure safety of residents.
“My government will work with the national government to ensure safety of residents,” he said.
Mutua urged the members of the public to be vigilant an work with law enforcers to weed out criminals.
Mutua said that provision of security is the responsibility of each and every Kenyan.
He however urged to security agencies to work tirelessly and protect Kenyans from internal and external threats.
Mutua said that insecurity is a threat to the country economic development and criminals should be dealt with.
