Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a wants Kiambu ward representatives to take their roles seriously and pass policies that will improve the welfare of Kiambu people.
Speaking to the press at Thika town on Saturday, Nga’ng’a accused most of the county MCAs of failing residents.
The MP accused some of the MCAs of being guided by greed at the expense of serving Kiambu people.
“We are getting concerned by the behaviours and acts of being shown by a section of Kiambu ward representatives, some have completely abandoned the people that elected them,” she said.
The Thika legislator said asked county MCAs to be serious and work for Kiambu people through proper legislations.
Nga’ng’a said that the county MCAs have completely failed on their oversight role and given the county executive a leeway to exploit the people.
“It is clear from what we are seeing that there is no oversight role by the Kiambu county assembly,” she added.
The Thika legislator urged MCAs to change their tactics and represent the people well.
She said that as MCAs, they are the policy makers at the grass root levels and that they must use their powers to propose and make laws that will help fight the socio-economic challenges facing the people.
