Gusii community have nothing to celebrate about Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangí powerful position in government, an elected MP has claimed.
Cs Matiangí hails from Borabu in Nyamira County.
South Mugirango lawmaker Sylvanus Osoro argued that Matiangí has done too little to the community since he was appointed.
"I can confirm that we are yet to celebrate Matiangí position in government because the fruits of his position in government haven't been seen. I challenge him to secure jobs for more youths from Nyamira and Kisii counties the same way leaders from other communities are doing," he noted.
Osoro, a close ally to Deputy President William Ruto said Matiangí should make use of his position to eradicate poverty from the Gusii community.
The youthful lawmaker insisted that he has nothing personal with Matiangí only that he feels bad when Matiangí is not helping the youth from Gusii region to get jobs.
"I do not hate Matiangí as people think. I wish to urge Matiangí to move with speed and help our youth to get into the police force and other good offices to end poverty which has hindered the growth of our community. The Gusii community should also see the goodies brought by Matiangí," he added.
The MP was speaking on Thursday when he interacted with residents of Nyabigena in his constituency.
